The PTS Managed Services team helped aviation company, Sheltair with the successful execution of a disaster recovery scenario allowing Sheltair to continue to remain operation as Hurricane Irma made landfall. With the airline having a critical role to play in sending aid to the affected area, ensuring business continuity was critical in helping the region during the aftermath of the Category 5 storm.
In the days leading up to the storm, Sheltair Management executed its business continuity plan by transitioning technical operations to their back-up Data Centre located in New Jersey. Utilising PTS’s Private Cloud, Sheltair could maintain flight operations even if the South Florida Data Centre was taken offline by Hurricane Irma.
Working extensively with Sheltair’s management and employees on the transition, the PTS Managed Services team completed a successful cut-over of technical services and ensured user access for Sheltair’s point of sale and flight operations throughout the storm.
• The company can continue with its plans to grow
• Maintaining flight operations at JFK International Airport (JFK) ensured foreign dignitaries could arrive on time for the United Nations General Assembly
• With flights continuing, Sheltair could send aid to areas affected by the Category 5 storm
