PTS provides IT Managed Services to Morrisons' new sourcing office in Hong Kong
Morrisons opened a new sourcing office in Hong Kong to initially target non-food products sourced directly from the manufacturers in China (including garden, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and electrical items). The office had been designed for a total of 30 users with 23 users for day one operation
Morrisons appointed PTS Managed Services as an IT outsource vendor. The scope was to design, procure and integrate all of their IT systems, combining cloud solutions, such as hosted email and online data backups with local resilient virtualised servers. PTS was also responsible for the structured cabling design and installation.
PTS was able to successfully assist Morrisons, respecting its aggressive schedule for completing the office fit-out and IT integration, and dealing with long lead times on IT equipment put that schedule at risk.
Morrisons has a sizable in-house IT team and stringent requirements around IT security, auditability and robustness of the IT systems it deploys. PTS managed to satisfy Morrisons' requirements for a Hong Kong-based IT partner capable of being compliant with Morrison's IT standards, and delivering a first-class integration and support service.
PTS got the Client up and running in record time through a combination of loaning equipment to Morrisons, progressively deploying and integrating equipment as it arrived. The Client was pleased with PTS' innovation and flexibility, which enabled the business to operate as planned, in the face of many challenges.
PTS Managed Services commenced on-going support and maintenance seven days a week since the 1st June 2011.
